LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT & PROMOTION OF SMALL COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

SRSP with the collaboration of PPAF is implementing livelihood support and promotion of small community infrastructure project in District Charsadda and Chitral. This project is funded by German Development Bank (KfW) and initiated on April 1, 2012. The project involves total funding of US $ 361 million over a period of three years. 
The overall goal is to contribute to the improvement of the general living conditions and quality of life of the poor population in the target areas. 
This project aims to benefit the marginalized people through increased access  to and sustainable utilization of social and economic infrastructure by the people, increased employment and income opportunities for the poor and enhanced participation of local communities in the decision making process. 
This project has three main components, 1) Institutional development/social mobilization and strengthen the capacities of local communities to plan, implement and manage their resources. 2) Small scale infrastructure projects will be undertaken targeting the identified community needs, and 3) livelihood enhancement and protection to facilitate the vulnerable communities in income generation through various types of livelihood trainings and market linkages in its target areas to develop small scale business activities. Currently project is in no cost extension phase (from December 2014 to February 2015 due to under achievement of its physical and financial targets.
